TTM spotlights east coast travel

-

BANGKOK, 25 May 2018: Tourism Authority of Thailand is inviting international media and travel buyers to attend the annual Thailand Travel Mart and explore destinations on Thailand’s eastern seaboard through a hosted post tour programme.

This year’s Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) will run from 13 to 15 June at the Ocean Marina Yacht Club, Pattaya.

Post tours will be hosted from 15 to 17 June featuring eastern seaboard destinations, Rayong and Chanthaburi.

TTM is Thailand largest B2B event that presents Thailand as a gateway destination to Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries.

The GMS region is made up of Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Travel enterprises, airlines and hotels from these member countries are invited to exhibit their products at TTM.

This year, 300 quality international buyers will attend TTM from over 60 countries, worldwide. They will have pre-arranged appointments with 280 seller companies and organisations.

This year’s theme focuses on luxury and romance, a subject that is likely to appeal to buyers from China and India.

The latter market is well-known for supplying high-profile wedding parties that charter planes and take over resort hotels in Thailand for a week of celebrations.

But luxury travel is just as important as weddings and honeymoon trips and this year’s TTM will also present travel content specifically for female travellers, and families.

Chairing an official press conference for the Thailand Travel Market, earlier this week, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Weerasak Kowsurat, vouched full support for the event hosted in Pattaya after a gap of more than 10 years.

“To host the country’s biggest B2B tourism event in Pattaya is a part of the government’s plan to promote the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), with tourism being one of the region’s four core sectors. The Royal Thai Government is confident that this will help transform the ECC into a leading economic zone in Southeast Asia,” he told the media.
