THAI drops Phnom Penh flight

BANGKOK, Thai Airways International will reduce its double daily service from Bangkok to Phnom Penh to a single daily flight, 1 June.

The airline will maintain its TG584 evening flight that departs Bangkok at 1845 and lands in Phnom Penh at 1955, while cutting the early morning service.

The return flight, TG 585, will depart at 2115 and arrive in Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport at 2220, according to timetable information from Airlineroute.

The early morning flight TG580, that departs Bangkok at 0740 and returns from Phnom Penh at 1010 (TG581), will exit the timetable, 1 June.

The lowest THAI roundtrip fare is pegged at THB 6,349, during May.

After THAI drops frequency to just one daily Phnom Penh service, Thai Smile will take over the early morning flight slot departing Bangkok at 0740 and quoting a roundtrip fare of THB 5,365.

Its nearest competitor for early morning flights to Phnom Penh will be Bangkok Airways, which offers a 0610 departure with a roundtrip fare of THB 5610.

PG also offers a later morning flight departing Bangkok at 0815 with a fare of THB 5,968.

Lanmei Airlines quotes the cheapest roundtrip fare at THB 4,860 for a 1000 departure from Bangkok.

THAI passengers, who have booked flights on TG580/TG581 will be transferred to either the evening TG flight or to a THAI Smile service.

The low-cost subsidiary continues to offer 11 weekly flights using an A320 on the route.
