SINGAPORE, 16 May 2018: Singapore Tourism Board’s chief executive, Lionel Yeo, will step down from the top tourism post 31 May.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry confirmed, 14 May, that Yeo is concluding a 22-year career in public service and six years with STB to join the private sector.
STB will be headed by Melissa Ow, currently its deputy chief executive.
She will be appointed acting chief executive, effective 1 June, until a new chief executive is named by the board.

Since joining STB, Yeo has made the pursuit of quality tourism a priority when he steered STB and the tourism sector to record highs in tourism receipts and visitor arrivals.
He also spearheaded the development of a new unified brand for Singapore, “Passion Made Possible”, which was launched in August 2017.
Most recently he led talks leading up to the renewal of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix for a further four years until 2021.
