BREMERHAVEN, Germany  25 April 2018: Norwegian Cruise Line’s  newest ship, Norwegian Bliss, embarked on a two–day European inaugural cruise this week from the Meyer Werft shipyard before heading for Southampton in the UK.

The ship will make its first Atlantic crossing from Southampton arriving in the US, 3 May.

It will feature in two-day presentations in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, and will conclude with a grand christening ceremony and sailing from her first homeport at Pier 66 in Seattle, Washington state, 30 May.

Following a three–day inaugural voyage with a call into the port of Victoria, British Columbia, she will return on 2 June and will then embark on her first seven–day voyage to Alaska.

“Norwegian Bliss is one of our most highly–anticipated ships to date, and today marks another exciting milestone for the newest and most innovative ship of our young and modern fleet,” said Norwegian Cruise Line president and chief executive officer Andy Stuart.
Norwegian Bliss is the first ship custom-built for cruising to Alaska and the third ship in the line’s Breakaway Plus class.

A signature feature is the largest competitive race track at sea. The two–level electric–car race track sits at the top of deck 19, offering guests amazing views as they race around the track.

Beginning this June, Norwegian Bliss will spend the northern hemisphere summer offering seven–day voyages to Alaska. During the North American autumn season it will cruise to the Mexican Riviera from Los Angeles.

In the winter of 2018, it will sail to the Caribbean from Miami, and in the 2019 North American autumn/winter season from New York City to Florida, the Bahamas and Caribbean.
