Marriott simplifies rewards

-

DUBAI, 18 April 2018: Marriott International is simplifying its reward benefits to just one set across Marriott Rewards, Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) effective this August.

The hotel group claims it will allow members to earn on average 20% more points than under the current individual programmes.

For the first time, members will be able to book stays, earn or redeem points, at 29 participating global brands comprising 6,500 hotels in 127 countries.

Beginning in August, members will be able to combine their separate Marriott Rewards, Ritz-Carlton Rewards and SPG accounts into a single account spanning the entire loyalty portfolio of all brands.

For the time being the individual names for each rewards scheme will remain, but the benefits and rules will be identical. The three rewards schemes will be officially branded under a single identify in 2019.

Also beginning in August, travellers will be able to book stays across the entire portfolio for the first time on  any of the sites.  (www.Marriott.com, www.SPG.com and the Marriott and SPG apps).
