Culture Trip flush with cash

-

LONDON, 25 April 2018: Culture Trip, a travel technology startup providing cultural and travel experiences announced USD 80 million in funding through a series B investment.

Led by PPF Group, the funds will be used to propel the business forward by an immediate bolstering of its executive team with key hires joining from leading tech companies and a product redesign launching today.

Off the back of the raise, Culture Trip will also use the funds to significantly expand its engineering and creative workforce worldwide to fuel innovation, drive audience growth and roll out various monetisation strategies.

With offices in New York and London, as well as an R&D team in Tel Aviv, Culture Trip moves into this next phase of development with an expanded leadership line-up from tech businesses, including Facebook, Google and YouTube.

Joining as CMO, Mike Fox will oversee the company’s global marketing division with a focus on audience growth and turning users into a powerful global community connected through shared interests.

The company, today, also launched a new brand aesthetic to its product, (website, app and social channels), with a new logo and colour palette.

Plus, new smart tech features, including wish lists, integrated Google maps and planning tools, are being rolled out as the platform starts to offer a more seamless experience for the global traveller.

This collective announcement comes on the heels of Culture Trip’s recent announcement that it intends to launch an online travel agency to connect its audience with a full-fledged booking platform later this year, connecting boutique hotels, independent hotels, hostels and experience providers.
