Triple five fare southbound

-

BANGKOK, 20 March 2018: AirAsia claims we can fly for only THB 555 to destinations in southern Thailand. (In the Thai language, five has a fun side to it  Ha, Ha, Ha).

But the fare is a serious offer focusing on the airline’s extensive network that serves 19 routes to nine destinations in South Thailand.

The triple five deal was launched just days before the airline introduces daily flights on its latest route, Bangkok-Chumphon, set for take off 25 March.

Chumphon is the nearest coastal town  to Tao Island, a popular dive resort destination.

We checked the website for a flight booking 27 March and got a one-way fare confirmed at THB 666. This broke down as follows: THB 378.97 for the base fare, excise tax THB 150.00; airport tax THB 100 and VAT THB 37.03. The base fare was better than what the promotion stated, which is an usual turn of events for those who follow airline website bargains.

Bookable and easy to finalise, Thai AirAsia’s website has customer-friendly features and the bottom-line deal that is close enough to the advertised price tag for us to give it hats off merit.

Commenting on the airline’s routes southbound to Thailand popular tourist haunts, Thai AirAsia director of commercial Santisuk Klongchaiya said: “AirAsia is proud to be the airline with the most complete network of southern routes, flying from Bangkok to Phuket, Krabi, Hat Yai, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Narathiwat, Ranong and from 25 March 2018, Chumphon.”

Three of the airline’s six flight hubs are located in the south, in Phuket, Krabi and Hat Yai (the others are in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and U-Tapao).

The latest THB 555 offer can be booked until 25 March for travel  through to 30 September, 2018 at www.airasia.com.
