Nikko bounces back in Bali


TOKYO, 12 March 2018: Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach  welcomed its first guests, last Thursday, by discounting its best available rate by 43% for a limited period.

The Nikko brand is making its return to Bali after an absence of two years. It previously managed a property on Nusa Dua beach.

The brand is owned by Okura Nikko Hotel Management Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Hotel Okur Co Ltd..

Located  approximately 15 km kilometres from Denpasar’s International Airport, the resort hotel is the latest resort development at Tanjung Benoa, previously a quiet fishing village.

Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach offers 188 rooms and suites, plus bars and restaurants, a lagoon swimming pool and a spa.

To open the hotel, Okura Nikko Hotel Management appointed Jean-Charles Le Coz as general manager and Tina Tandun as director of sales and marketing.

Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach is managed by Okura Nikko Hotel Management Co Ltd, which is part of a hotel group that claims to have a pipeline of 100 properties in various stages of planning across Asia.

Indonesia welcomed more than 12 million foreign arrivals in 2017 and hopes to reach a 17 million target by 2019 and 20 million in 2020.  Bali accounted for around 6 million of the visits in 2017 and arrivals should reach 7 million this year.

To mark the hotel’s opening the management is offering a 43% discount off the best available rate posted on its website. The booking period ends 31 March for stays through to 30 June 30.

The offer on a deluxe room starts at IDR 1,397,569 (USD 97.83 for double occupancy and including a 21% government tax and service charge.

Extras are complementary access to the steam room and Fitness Centre in the spa and a free daily refill of drinking water.

Not much to write home about on added value and extra perks, while the free daily refill of drinking water is mandatory at all Bali hotels whatever the rates or stars.

But to its credit,  the special opening offer, pegged at USD 97.83, beats the best offer on, which quotes its super deal for this property at USD 139.21, including tax and service.

It remains to be seen if the hotel will revert to the full rate of around USD 250, once the opening offer expires.
