Mövenpick pops 11 out of pipeline

BANGKOK, 12 March 2018: Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts reports a line up of 11 new properties in nine countries that should open by the end of 2018.

It is scheduling openings in Bangladesh, Iraq, Kenya, Malaysia and the Maldives, countries where it hasn’t been represented in the past.

Three of Mövenpick’s upcoming hotels will open over the next few months.  They are: Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin; Mövenpick Hotel du Lac Tunis and Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi in Kenya.

The remaining eight properties, due to open by the end of the year, include the Mӧvenpick Resort & Spa Kuredhivaru in the Maldives; Mövenpick Hotel Basra; Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA close to Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Mövenpick Hotel Sylhet, in northeast Bangladesh.

In the Middle East, Mövenpick will open two hotels in the United Arab Emirates: Mövenpick Hotel Apartments Downtown Dubai and Mövenpick Dubai Media City.

The firm will also strengthen its presence in Egypt with the addition of Mövenpick Resort El Ein Bay, its second property in the coastal area of El Sokhna.

In Thailand, the group will open the Mövenpick Resort Khao Yai, near Thailand’s oldest national park 180 km from Bangkok. By 2020 the group targets 125 hotels worldwide.
