Malaysia gains agents support

-

BERLIN, 12 March 2018: More new hotels, cruise ship visits from Thomson and a direct Condor flight route linking Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur are key factors that will boost travel bookings from Europe to Malaysia.

That was the core assessment by the Tourism Malaysia delegation to ITB Berlin last week

Condor’s holiday flights are due to commence this November supported by heavy-duty Tourism Malaysia’s promotions in the German market.

Condor commercial director Jens Boyd said: “Malaysia is underserved by flights from Germany, so we are happy to fill that gap. With its heritage, beaches, food, service culture and safety, Malaysia has everything you look for.”

Tourism Malaysia deputy director general (promotion) Dato Sri Abdul Khani Daud noted that Malaysia is the ECTAA’s Preferred Destination for 2018. ( ECTAA: European Travel Agents and Tour Operators Associations).

Through its core membership of national travel agency associations, ECTAA will encourage an estimated 70,000 travel agents and tour operators across 27 EU countries to highlight Malaysia’s tour content during the year.

Malaysia recently announced 2020 as its Visit Malaysia year when the country targets 36 million visitors.

Malaysia fielded a delegation of 152 participants from 74 organisations at this year’s ITB.
