Hyatt Regency readies for Bangkok launch

BANGKOK, 14 March 2018: Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit continues to add to its executive team ahead of the hotel’s scheduled opening in September.

In recent weeks, the hotel’s GM. Sammy Carolus, has appointed Maria Sitanggang director of sales & marketing and Wuthivet Vetchabutsakorn as director of finance.

Sitanggang joins Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit after spending seven years at Hyatt Regency Hua Hin as its director of sales and marketing. She has also worked for Hyatt properties in Bali.

“It has always been a goal of mine to help lay the groundwork for a new Hyatt hotel,” said Sitanggang, who began her career with the brand in 2004. “But I am especially excited about this opportunity because it is the first Hyatt Regency in Bangkok.”

Wuthivet’s resume includes stints with globally recognised leaders in nutrition (Mead Johnson) and pharmaceuticals (P&G) as well as hospitality. Most recently he served area director of finance – Asia for Movenpick Hotels & Resorts.

The 273-room Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit’s signature features will include 21 suites, three dining venues and more than 1,300 square meters of meeting space.

It will be the fourth Hyatt hotel in Bangkok, joining the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, Park Hyatt Bangkok and Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit.
