Europe ups presence at COTTM

-

BEIJING, 15 March 2018: Europe and the EU-China Tourism Year (ECTY) have been designated official partner events of the 2018 edition of the China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market (COTTM).

The three-day B2B travel trade fair will take place from 16 to 18 April in Beijing.

Now entering its 14th year, COTTM remains the B2B that focuses purely on the burgeoning outbound market.

China’s outbound travel market is estimated to have reached 130 million trips a year.

European destinations hope to catch up on popular Asian destination such as Thailand that will attract around 10 million Chinese travellers this year

A dedicated Europe Pavilion at COTTM will showcase European tourism products and destinations including newcomers to the China market, Latvia and Romania.

Other major European destinations represented are Regione Piemonte (Italy) and Lakeland (Finland).

The Europe Pavilion at COTTM, which has the support of the European Union, is part of an ambitious programme of activities in the framework of the 2018 EU-China Tourism Year (ECTY), including B2B matchmaking events and communication marketing campaigns.

The European Commission is responsible for the organisation of the ECTY in cooperation with the European Travel Commission and the China National Tourism Administration.

COTTM 2018 will take place 16 to 18 April at the National Agricultural Exhibition Centre in Beijing.
