PG ups Phu Quoc flights to five

-

BANGKOK, 2 February 2018: Bangkok Airways is adding a nonstop flight between Bangkok and Phu Quoc (Vietnam), to offer five flights weekly

Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island lies off the southern coast close to the Cambodian border and is often labelled a rising star among beach holiday destinations in ASEAN.

Bangkok Airways flies to the island direct from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Before we all jump with joy, this is just a temporary lift in flights to meet traffic demand, 3 February to 24, March, which covers Chinese New Year travel during the week of 16 February. But Bangkok Airways is  the only airline serving the island with a nonstop flight from Bangkok and if  bookings continue to grow at the present pace it will probably resume the fifth frequency during the winter timetable starting November 2018.

The airline uses a 70-seat ATR 72-600 for the flight departing at 1130.  It arrives at Phu Quoc International Airport at 1310. The return flight PG992 departs Phu Quoc International Airport at 1350 and arrives in Bangkok at 1535. Flight time is 1 hour and 40 minutes.

A roundtrip fare during the 3 February to 24 March period starts at THB7,959 bookable through Skyscanner.
