Jaipur gains more low-cost flights

JAIPUR, 7 Februa4y 2018: AirAsia X’s latest route from Kuala Lumpur to Jaipur was launched 5 February, making it easier to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Northwest India.

Promotional all-in-fares to launch the flight have been set at  MYR199 one-way ( INR3,555). Premium Flatbed seats are selling at MYR 699( INR11,900).

The fare promotion ends 11 February for travel until 31 July.

AirAsia X is the only low-cost carrier to offer a direct route from Kuala Lumpur and Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. It is offering four weekly services.

AirAsia Berhad executive chairman and AirAsia X Group CEO, Datuk Kamarudin Meranun said: “India is one of our key growth markets… We now fly to two destinations in  India’s Golden Triangle with the addition of the Jaipur flights to our existing Delhi services. This latest route addition brings the total of weekly flights connecting Malaysia to India to 110 times and total capacity under AirAsia Group including AirAsia X to 22,755 seats.

Since 2010, AirAsia Group has carried 16 million passengers to and from India. As of December 2017, AirAsia X Malaysia 184,482 passengers since the introduction of the Kuala Lumpur-New Delhi direct service in February 2016.

With the new route, AirAsia X together with its short-haul affiliate, AirAsia now serve 19 Indian cities including Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Ranchi, Srinagar, Tiruchirappalli and Visakhapatnam.

Jaipur holds a prominent position in Rajasthan, attracting more than one in three of the international tourist visiting the region.

Known as the pink city for its pink-painted cityscape, Jaipur is a widely known as a premium destination attracting leisure and business travellers from around the world.
