Amour romance meets in Bangkok

-

BANGKOK, 6 February 2018: Thailand will host the first ever Amour Asia-Pacific 2018, a trade event mid February focusing on romance travel.

The event will be hosted 14 to 17 February at the Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park and co-hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Thailand welcomed an estimated 1.1 million international romance travellers in 2016 mostly for honeymoons and weddings. Romance travel generated an estimated USD1.65 billion for the Thai economy, or approximately USD1,500 per visitor, per trip.

Asia is a key source market for Thailand’s wedding and honeymoon business, but there are concerns that the growth rate could falter as more Asian couples postpone weddings to pursue career opportunities.

Worldwide Events CEO, Richard Barnes said: “Thailand is truly at the heart of romance and honeymoon travel in Asia, so we are pleased to be able to showcase the plethora of products and services on offer for today’s discerning luxury romance traveller.”

The Amour Asia-Pacific 2018 is a luxury travel trade event specifically designed for honeymoon curators, destination wedding planners and romance travel designers.

Organised by Big Worldwide Limited, a leading international tourism promoter behind major events; such as, M&I Forums in 2016 (including Europe, the emerging markets, and the Americas), PRIVATE Luxury Forums in 2016 (the Americas and Europe), and the Amour Europe Forum 2016.

The Amour Asia-Pacific 2018 will welcome 77 buyers including both romance travel buyers and destination wedding planners, who will meet with 84 exhibitors from around the region.

Thailand will be represented by Destination Asia, Siam Bangkok, Conrad Koh Samui, Rayavadee Krabi, Keemala Phuket, Amanpuri Phuket, Trisara Phuket, Belmond Napasai Koh Samui, Four Seasons Resorts Thailand, St Regis Bangkok, Marriott Marquis, Splendid Asia Holidays, Nikki Beach Koh Samui, Anantara Group, and Como Point Yamu.
