Mövenpick names new GMs

BANGKOK, 23 January 2018: Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has appointed general managers for two of its hotels in the Indian Ocean region.

French national, Brice Borin, has been named general manager of Mövenpick’s first property in the Maldives, which is due to open later this year at a site on Noonu Atoll.

Mövenpick Resort & Spa Kuredhivaru Maldives will feature 105 villas, all with their own private swimming pool, including over-water accommodation.

Borin has 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, more than 20 of which have been spent in the Asia Pacific region. Most recently he was GM of the Soori Bali, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW).

Dutch national, George Koumendakos, has been appointed general manager of the Mövenpick Hotel Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has worked in the hotel industry for 30 years in 11 countries, including more than a decade with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).

He moves to Mövenpick in Sri Lanka from the UAE, where he was Area General Manager of three IHG hotels in Dubai.

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts claims it will open eight new hotels in the Asia Pacific under management deals during this year.

New properties will join the Swiss hotel group’s portfolio of 11 operating Asia Pacific hotels.
