BANGKOK 10 November 2017; Travellers can now earn loyalty points when they fly Qatar Airways that can be cashed in for travel on certain Bangkok Airways routes in Thailand and to neighbouring countries.
The two airlines are now pairing their frequent flyer programmes, effective 1 November, that allows loyalty programme members of either airline to earn and redeem points for travel across the two networks.
Bangkok Airways’ Flyer Bonus members will be able to earn points when travelling on all Qatar Airways flights.
Similarly Qmiles members will be able to earn and redeem their miles when travelling on Bangkok Airways flights on routes to Samui, Krabi, Phuket, Luang Prabang, Danang, Phu Quoc via Bangkok.
Bangkok Airways FFP members will stand to benefit considerably from the deal as they will be able to accumulate points on intercontinental flights on Qatar Airways that could be redeemed for free travel on domestic flights on Bangkok Airways.
One roundtrip fare on Qatar Airways to Europe would earn enough points for a roundtrip domestic fare without shelling out an extra cent.
In the same manner, Qatar Airways members will be able to cash in their Qmile points to cover the cost of domestic flights beyond the gateways in Thailand served by the Middle East Airlines.
By January, Qatar Airways will serve five gateway destinations in Thailand where Bangkok Airways offers domestic flights to other cities in the country.
Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Ehab Amin said: “This reciprocal relationship between Privilege Club and FlyerBonus is a natural extension of the highly productive relationship that we have enjoyed with Bangkok Airways since our codeshare partnership began in May 2013.”
