SINGAPORE 3 October 2017: Emirates announced, Monday, that it would expand its network to 29 flydubai destinations across three continents as part of a wider partner agreement between the two airlines.

The latest codeshares will offer easier access to more destinations with the advantage of connecting baggage to the final destination.

Passengers can now book travel through to these 29 destinations, commencing 29 October on Emirates.com, through the Emirates Contact Centres, or travel agents. It involves a change of plane to flydubai at the Dubai hub.

Emirates Group and flydubai’s chief executive and chairman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “This is the first step in unlocking the benefits of our partnership… passengers will have a greater choice and flexibility when connecting via Dubai. This is just the start and as we expand the partner network in the coming months.”

When booked on a single itinerary, Emirates passengers will receive complimentary meals and enjoy Emirates’ checked baggage allowance on flights operated by flydubai in both business and economy classes.

Transfers at Dubai will also be improved due to the new partnership as passengers benefit from a reduced minimum connection time (MCT) of 120 minutes between Emirates’ home in Terminal 3 and flydubai’s in Terminal 2.

Today’s announcement is an initial phase of the extensive agreement that will see the creation of additional city-pair connections as the codeshare agreement expands and both airlines’ networks are optimised.

In this first phase , Emirates Skywards members can earn Skywards miles and Skywards Tier Miles on codeshare flights as per the existing Skywards mileage programme.
