SINGAPORE, 3 October 2017: Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism is collaborating with several ferry and tourism operators in Batam and Bintan islands to boost travel through promotions.
Foreign visitors, who want to explore Batam via Singapore and Malaysia, can now buy travel packages at concessional prices, Monday to Thursday.
The ‘hot deals’ offer a ferry return ticket from Singapore to Batam at SGD20 including terminal fees, down from the usual SGD48.
Meanwhile, Harbour Bay has set a fare at SGD26 for weekdays and SGD28 for weekends.
Ministry of Tourism Indonesia director of promotion for Southeast Asia, Rizki Handayani said: “We have been working with ferry and tourism operators in Batam and Bintan and Tanjung Pinang, to create special packages for tourists under our Wonderful Indonesia branding.”
In addition to boarding the ferry at Singapore’s Harbourfront Terminal, visitors can also board at the Tanah Merah Terminal, where the fare is SGD44 to Tanjung Pinang and SGD39 to Bintan.
This special packages are on offer until the end of 2017, and may be repeated in 2018 if the response is positive.
