Five days to catch Finnair fare

BANGKOK, 20 September 2017: There are just five days left to grab  cheap flights to Europe according to Finnair’s latest offers.

Fares to Europe, starting at THB20,900, are quoted for travel to popular destinations such as Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Zurich, Rome and Paris.

There’s one small hitch. Five days before the deadline  the quoted fare was hard to track down, almost sold out?

Bookings must be completed by 25 September. Travel is open until 31 May 2018. There are blackout periods for departures out of Bangkok 28 December to 15 January and 1 February to 30 April.

The minimum stay is five days and maximum one month. Tickets must be purchased at least 3 days before departure.

Other destinations covered by the THB20,900 fare are: Krakow; Madrid; Oslo; Moscow; Málaga and Stockholm.

The prices quoted by the airline are the lowest available for departures from Bangkok.

However, a website check for a trip to Copenhagen failed to source the lowest offer. Finnair’s best offer was THB24,914  by shifting travel dates to Sunday and Thursday to secure the lowest possible fare.  The highest was around THB37,305.  The THB20,900 fare was off the radar for flights in October. Not a single sighting for the entire month.

However, even the THB24,914 clearly bettered THAI’s best fare at  THB35,581 for the Bangkok-Copenhagen route, although TG offers a direct service as opposed to Finnair’s one stop flight with a change of plane in Helsinki.

Compared with other airlines offering a one-stop roundtrip service  Bangkok-Copenhagen, Emirates has the best fare at THB20,142.

Quotes include fees and taxes. Finnair fares are for a return flight, and include one piece of luggage with a maximum weight of 23 kg, as well as all taxes and charges, but a credit card surcharge may apply.
