Fiji is a hot spot


NADI, Fiji, 23 August 2017:  Fiji scooped up a top award at the 29th Annual Virtuoso Travel Week conference, recently, being named the Hottest Destination for 2017.

Announced by International luxury travel network Virtuoso, the award recognises Fiji as the destination with the highest year-over-year growth within the Virtuoso Network.

Tourism Fiji received the award last week at The Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas. Virtuoso has a network of 1,700 partners eligible for voting in various categories. Travel Week.

“We are thrilled to accept the award for Hottest Destination of the Year from Virtuoso, and see this as a testament to the hard work we have dedicated to the North American market over the past several years,” said Tourism Fiji regional manager of North America, Ruth Daly. “We’re anticipating much more success in the market as Fiji continues to build new resorts and create offerings to accommodate the record-breaking number of guests visiting the islands.”

“Fiji Airways is delighted that an organization as prestigious as Virtuoso would recognize Fiji with this award,” stated Fiji Airways regional general manager for North America, Stroebel Bekker. “In the past year, Fiji Airways has shown its commitment to growing the North American market by adding year-round services from San Francisco to Fiji, in addition to our existing daily non-stop service from Los Angeles and three weekly service from Honolulu.”

Tourism Fiji is the destination marketing arm of the Fijian government responsible for promoting Fiji. It has a presence in eight key markets around the world and its activities include advertising, public relations, media initiatives, trade shows and tourism industry programmes.

Fiji Airways flies from hubs Nadi and Suva International airports to 69 destinations in 15 countries (including code-share). Destinations in Asia comprise of Hong Kong, Singapore and India. Fiji Airways rebranded from Air Pacific in June 2013.
