BANGKOK, 24 August 2017: The 2nd annual Civil Aviation Southeast Asia Summit (CASEA 2017), will convene 27 to  28th September in Bangkok, Thailand.

CASEA positions itself as a must-attend forum for the Southeast Asia’s civil aviation community.

The event will be hosted at Best Western Premier Amaranth Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Home to more than 600 million people, or 9% of the world’s population, Southeast Asia’s aviation industry is experiencing some of the fastest  growth rates in commercial aviation.

In terms of passenger traffic, six of Southeast Asia’s 10 countries  saw double-digit growth in commercial aviation in 2016.

This year, has seen similar growth to the point some of the region’s airports are seriously challenged to deal with passenger traffic flows.

Aviation studies attribute the rapid growth  to a rising middle class, favourable fuel prices, LCC saturation and liberalisation in the aviation sector.

However, in the medium-longer term, regulatory barriers, poor airport infrastructure, fleet overcapacity, and shortage of human resources still stand in the way of market growth.

CASEA is a platform where these trending topics will be discussed.

Thailand was chosen as the venue following the Ministry of Transportation approval, last February, of a new 15-year aviation industry development plan  intended to expand Thailand’s aerospace sector and strengthen its position as regional aviation hub.

Aviation companies investing in Thailand, under the plan, will benefit from a host of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives that range from corporate tax exemptions to assistance with work permits and product sourcing.

Delegates to CASEA 2017 will be able to join a field trip to Thai Airways’ U-Tapao MRO Unit pre or post-event.

Supported by The Board of Airline Representatives Business Association and Thai Pilots Association, the inaugural event, 27 to 28 July 2016, attracted just 126 attendees and six sponsors.

This year’s even will host 200+ decision makers from across the Southeast Asia’s airline community as well as representatives component manufacturers, aviation training schools, training solutions providers, airport equipment providers and leasing companies for what will be a comprehensive aviation show.
