SINGAPORE, 22 August 2017: AccorHotels announced its first management contract for a resort in the Maldives, effective 1 September.

The group will take over Dhevanafushi Maldives Luxury Resort that occupies the private island of Meradhoo.

The resort will be repositioned following improvements to be completed by late 2018. It will then join the iconic collection of Raffles hotels and resorts.

Dhevanafushi Maldives Luxury Resort, Managed by AccorHotels currently has 21 island villas and 16 ocean villas with private pools, three restaurants and a cocktail bar.

The resort also offers a spa, over-the-water fitness centre, yoga programmes, water sports, private dining options, 24-hour butler and private chef service, along with snorkelling and diving.

“We are thrilled to announce our very first luxury resort in the Maldives at a time when the region is enjoying excellent growth, especially with travellers from Asia Pacific,” said AccorHotels, upper Southeast and northeast Asia chief operating officer, Patrick Basset.

“AccorHotels is bringing to the resort our expertise in delivering unparalleled luxury experiences renowned in our Raffles, Fairmont and Sofitel brands, along with the benefits of our award-wining global loyalty programme, Le Club AccorHotels.”

Property owner CDL Hospitality Trust’s chief executive officer, Vincent Yeo added: “We believe the appointment of AccorHotels  will allow us to optimise its asset potential and redefine this resort at the very top-end of the luxury resort sector in the Maldives, following the re-positioning exercise in 2018.”

The resort can be accessed by a 55-minute flight from Male Airport and a 15-minute speedboat transfer.
