BENGALURU, 12 July 2017: AirAsia India is embarking on network expansion that will improve regional connectivity and increase the airline’s footprint in the country.
AirAsia India has added Bhubaneshwar to its list of destinations, while adding six new routes connecting New Delhi, Jaipur & Bagdogra to Kolkata.
To keep pace with the expansion the low-cost airline has brought in its 11th Airbus A320 aircraft registered VT-MOD.
Speaking about route developments, AirAsia managing director and CEO, Amar Abrol said: “With our group airline AirAsia Berhad operating from Bhubaneshwar, we saw huge potential for AirAsia India and are glad to provide connectivity to some of the key and underserved routes.”
“With the launch of our 16th destination, we have opened six new routes, not only reinforcing our commitment towards providing regional connectivity but also making air travel affordable to one & all.”
Bookings for the new sectors opened Tuesday, 4 July while the routes will be operational from 1 August.
Fares during the promotional period that ended 9 July were as low as INR990 for flights connecting Kolkata – Bhubaneshwar, INR2,390 for Bhubaneshwar – Bangalore, INR2,990 for Kolkata – Jaipur, INR990 for Kolkata – Bagdogra, INR2,990 for Kolkata – New Delhi and INR2,990 for Bangalore – Kolkata.
With the addition of Bhubaneshwar, AirAsia India will fly to 16 destinations with its hubs in Bengaluru, New Delhi and Kolkata covering Kochi, Goa, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Pune, Guwahati, Imphal, Vizag, Hyderabad, Srinagar, Bagdogra, and Ranchi and Bhubaneshwar.
