Race for flood hit farmers

PHATTHALUNG, 8 June 2017: Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports joins hands with Phatthalung province to organise the Thale-Noi Roi Run marathon 23 July in Phatthalung  to promote sports tourism.

The activity is expected to draw around 2,000 participants, who will run along the country’s longest bridge connecting Khuan Khanun district in Phatthalung to Ranot district in Songkhla province.

The campaign is part of a project aimed at developing sports and food tourism, as well as generating income for flood-hit farmers and residents.

The race category is divided into three distances: micro marathon 5 km; mini plus marathon 12 km; and half marathon 21.1 km.

Micro Marathon 5 km

Starts from a point between Ban Pak Soi Dao and Lan Bua Resort.

Mini Plus Marathon 12 km

The race’s starting line is between Ban Pak Soi Dao and Lan Bua Resort

Half Marathon 21.1 km

Heads to Chaloem Phrakiat 80 Phansa Bridge the longest bridge in the country.

The winners of each category receive prize money of THB5,000. Entry fees are: THB900 for half marathon and THB800 each for mini plus marathon and micro marathon.

Early bird entry fees up until 15 June are THB600 for half marathon and THB400 each for mini plus marathon and micro marathon.
