Hanoi issues code of conduct

HANOI, 30 December 2016: Hanoi’s Culture Department will distribute a code of conduct to domestic visitors arriving at the city’s airport and bus and rail stations.

Tuoi Tre News media reported the department saying the code of conduct leaflet in the Vietnamese language will have three chapters and eight clauses, aimed at “building a positive branding and a civilised image for Hanoi”.

The rules are applicable for “all organisations and individuals who live, work, study, visit, and stay in Hanoi”, it said.

inside no 2The code of conduct stipulates the correct and proper manners for specific locations, such as pavements and train, bus stations, parks, monuments and supermarkets and shopping malls.

The publication will be distributed from the 1 January, 2017.

Hanoi recorded 3.2 million international tourist arrivals during the first 10 months of this year, up 23% year-on-year.

According to the Municipal Department of Tourism, this year Hanoi should welcome 4 million international visitors, up 22.6% from last year.
