Emirates names Thailand manager

BANGKOK, 31 May 2016: Emirates has confirmed the appointment of Mohammad Sarhan as area manager for Thailand and Indochina.

He was assigned to the Thailand posting 1 May and has worked in the aviation industry for the last 10 years.

Prior to being appointed area manager Thailand and Indochina, he was Emirates’ country manager for Vietnam.

As area manager, he will oversee Emirates’ commercial services and operations in Thailand and Indochina.

Emirates recently announced the addition of its seventh daily service from Dubai to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The airline also has two daily flights between Dubai and Phuket.

The additional service underlines the importance of Thailand as a destination in the Emirates network.

The airline connects Bangkok to its Dubai hub with 42 weekly flights and Phuket to Dubai with double daily flights.

Emirates currently operates four of its six daily flights from Bangkok to Dubai with an A380.

Serving more than 155 destinations in 81 countries, the airline reported a net profit of USD1.9 billion for the fiscal year 2015 to 2016.
