TTM Thailand’s premier B2B event

BANGKOK, 23 March 2016:TTM, a trade show at the heart of Thailand’s sales promotions.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has positioned Thailand Travel Mart Plus Amazing Gateway to the Greater Mekong Subregion’ (TTM+) as the country’s premier B2B event.

It has grown in stature since it was first hosted in 2001 to become the top-flight trade event, not only for Thailand, but also for neighbouring Mekong Region countries that are invited to share their travel content with international buyers.

32There are two pillars on which the show has built its success.

One is its commitment to supporting tourism in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) a region that covers Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and two provinces in China; Yunnan and Guang Xi. This allows tour operators covering the region to source multi-destination products uat one show venue.

The other is the commitment to small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs). Many of them lack resources to embark on expensive overseas sales missions.

TTM brings international markets to Thailand’s doorstep and this year it has beaten records by attracting registrations from 570 international buyers.

Major markets represented by hosted buyers include Europe, Southeast Asia, eastern Asia, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as emerging markets such as the CIS countries, eastern Europe, Middle East, South America, and South Africa.

On the sellers side, 400 booths have been assigned to travel operators and service providers across Thailand and the GMS countries. This year the exhibitions space will have displays and booths for emerging destinations known as the 12 Hidden Gems. Other categories include hotels/resorts, tour operators/travel agents, entertainment, transportation, associations, national tourist offices and Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).

Thailand Travel Mart Plus will be hosted, 8 to 10 June, at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre (CMECC).

In addition to the business sessions TTM+ buyers and media can also embark on a variety of post tours, 11 June onwards, showcasing Thailand’s world-renowned natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
