BANGKOK, 23 March 2016:CMECC gains its first international B2B travel trade event.
Opened in 2013, Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre, or CMECC, is one of the largest convention and exhibition centres in Southeast Asia.
It takes up an overall indoor space of 60,000 sqm making it the largest convention centre outside of Bangkok.
It was built to spearhead the growth of conventions and exhibitions in North Thailand, a task that was given to Pinkanakorn Development Agency that now manages CMECC.
Hosting the TTM is a breakthrough for the city as it brings to CMECC its first international B2B travel trade event.
TTM will spread out in the CMECC’s column-free exhibition space that covers an area of 8,000 sqm.
The Convention and Exhibition Centre is made up of two main buildings; the SMEs building and main exhibition and convention hall.
The main exhibition and convention hall is a large two-level building with three function areas; an exhibition hall, convention hall and meeting rooms.
The exhibition halls can be configured as three separate events halls, or a single column-free space of 8,000 sqm.
CMECC also offers a large convention hall with 1,700 sqm of space and 29 meeting rooms and other supporting facilities.
The centre is located in the city’s Chang Phuerk district, a 10-minute drive from the city’s main tourist district and a 15-minute drive from the airport.
