HONG KONG, 12 February 2016: A popular booking platform for attractions and travel activities in Asia, Klook Travel, has teamed up with mobile messaging app WeChat and AirAsia’s loyalty programme BIG.
As WeChat Pay app officially launches in Asia, first in Hong Kong, it has teamed up with Klook to power bookings.
Users can book Hong Kong Airport Express tickets at close to 30% off and a visit to Universal Studios Singapore at 20% off.
Globally, WeChat has accumulated 650 million monthly active users. On top of being a mobile-focused social platform, WeChat is also driving eCommerce and O2O service transaction with the adoption of WeChat Pay.
WeChat Pay extends its footprint to Hong Kong from a strong base in mainland China.
Malaysia is the next destination on WeChat Pay’s list.
To this end, Klook Travel teams up with WeChat, AirAsia BIG to offer more ways to book travel activities.
The partnership will allow AirAsia BIG members to earn BIG Points when they make any purchase on Klook. Additionally, members will also be able to use their BIG Points to redeem selected Klook activities via AirAsia BIG’s redemption portal.
Klook’s existing network of partners includes Asia Miles, DBS, HSBC, Skyscanner and Tiger Airways.
The booking channel covers 30 destinations in Asia and a variety of travel experiences.
