BANGKOK, 23 December 2015: Thai Smile will launch services from Thailand’s Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport) to Siem Reap in Cambodia effective 1 February next year.
It will offer 10 weekly flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday using a 168-seat Airbus A320-200 on the route.
Siem Reap is a home to the famed Angkor temples, the most popular tourist attraction in Cambodia. The destination is packed with tourist hotels, five-star resorts, restaurants and businesses all living off tourism drawn to the towns famed Angkor Historical Park.
The airline offers a one-way promotional fare on the Bangkok- Siem Reap route at THB2,480. Fare includes taxes and fees. Bookings are valid until 26 March next year for travel from 1 February to 26 March next year.
In comparison, Bangkok Airways sells an inclusive one-way fare on the route for THB5,235.
Ex-Don Mueang Airport, Thai AirAsia offers an inclusive one-way fare to Siem Reap at THB2,325.
The new services represents a breakthrough for Thai Airways International that operates Thai Smile as a fully-owned subsidiary. In the past efforts to gain access to Siem Rep proved futile.
