VIENTIANE, 18 September 2015: Tourism Malaysia is leading a tourism promotion in Lao capital to boost travel during the remainder of the Malaysia Year of Festival.
Tourism Malaysia’s deputy director general (International Promotion) Dato’ Haji Azizan Noordin led the travel mission with the objective of updating the travel trade on new attractions in Malaysia and the events that could be promoted to Lao travellers for the remaining months of MyFest 2015.
Four industry players from Malaysia participated in a travel mart and a Malaysia Travel Fair: Food & Cultural Festival, hosted at the National Cultural Hall and Don Chan Palace Hotel, 17 to 20 September. They also met with 15 travel agents from Laos, who are selling Malaysia packages.
According to Dato’ Azizan, this event provides a platform for Malaysia’s tourism industry players to meet, network, and strengthen ties with their Lao counterparts.
Tourism Malaysia partnered with AirAsia in this promotional effort. The airline flies the Kuala Lumpur-Vientiane route three times per week.
