BANGKOK, 3O September 2015: IT&CMA hosted the first-ever ASEAN MICE Forum on the sidelines of this regional B2B event that opened Tuesday at Bangkok CentralWorld Convention Centre.
Thailand supplied the bulk of the content at the forum with a line-up of over 20 MICE, events intelligence, corporate travel and association management knowledge sessions led by over 30 speakers.
The first-ever ASEAN MICE Forum was endorsed by the ASEAN Marketing and Communications Working Group.
It beefs up the educational content of the double-billed IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific shows to build collaboration between the region’s MICE industry leaders.
“The AMF @ IT&CMA is the first major step we are taking to raise awareness of the ASEAN region, as a collective MICE destination. The AEC collaboration expands the possibilities for any MICE programme to the region,” said, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, Brunei Darussalam, Khairuddin Abdul Hamid, who is chairman of the ASEAN Tourism Marketing and Communication Working Group, ASEAN Secretariat.
IT&CMA 2015 claims a growth of 14% in exhibitors with sponsorship engagements increasing by more than 40% over 2014.
The international presence at the event has been strengthened by the addition of European, Middle Eastern and North Asian bureaus like Berlin, Geneva, Lucerne, Zürich, Dubai and Jeju. They join destinations Switzerland, Philippines, Macau and India.
The opening ceremony and welcome reception was hosted by Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau on the evening of 29 September.
The show closes 1 October.
