Vietnam’s travel up 20%

HANOI, 4 April 2014: Vietnam National Administration of Tourism estimates the country welcomed 709,725 international travellers in March representing an increase of 20.83% over the same month last year.

Thailand’s outbound trips to Vietnam ranked in 10th place with 22,499 visits decreasing 4.51% when compared with the same month in 2013.

China led the field in March with 190,476 visits increasing 46.56% followed by South Korea, Japan, Russia and the United States.

All of the country’s top markets are in the Asia/Pacific region with exception of the US (5th) and France (9th).

The bulk of arrivals in March (583,230) passed through the two main aviation gateways Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
