MANDALAY, Myanmar, 13 July 2012: Myanmar has opened a passport office in Mandalay to facilitate citizens who live in the east and north of the country and want to travel overseas.
Myanmar Times said the office opened 4 July and is the second passport issuing office after Yangon.
In the announcement officials said it would make overseas travel easier for residents living north of Yangon. Before they had to make at least two trips to the passport office in Yangon to complete the process.
Passport processing time remains the same as Yangon at 21 days for a fee of 25,700 kyat.
The passport office opens 0830 to 1500 on weekdays, except for gazette holidays.
