BANGKOK, 30 July 2012: Tourism New Zealand, Thai Airways International and Kiwi Specialist Agents are selling full-board tours and packages valid until 30 September.

There are two full-board options – nine days featuring North and South Islands, starting from Bt89,900 and six days on the North Island, starting from Bt57,900.

The prices include return international and domestic airfares, fuel and tax surcharges and a New Zealand group visa fee. Both programmes have four departures in August and September.

The independent packages are: a five-day fly-drive trip inclusive of return fare, motel accommodation, car rental (1.6-1.8L saloon), from Bt36,900 (based on double occupancy) and a five-day fly-campervan inclusive of return fare and Maui campervan rental, from Bt26,900 per person (based on six people occupying the campervan).

That’s a very tight fit for a standard campervan and there would be hardly any room for suitcases. Usually, the maximum comfort zone capacity is four persons.

Of the two options, the less expensive one would be the car trip that uses motel accommodation. Fuel costs are lower for a car, while motels rates are not much different from the park fee in serviced campsites, which is obligatory for campervaners require a daily hot shower and toilet amenities.

Both options exclude visa fee and fuel and tax surcharges, around Bt16,400.
