Airbus sells neo planes
Farnborough, 10 July 2012: European planemaker Airbus announced here on Monday that Arkia Israel Airlines had agreed to buy four of its upcoming single-aisle neo passenger planes.
Airbus did not disclose the deal amount for the four A321neo aircraft, which have a combined list price of US$453 million (369 million euros).
“Arkia Israeli Airlines, the second biggest Israeli airline signed today a purchase agreement for four A321neos at the Farnborough International Airshow.
“This order makes the airline a new Airbus customer and the first airline in Israel to order the A320 neo family.”
Airbus’ A320 neo series is going head to head with US rival Boeing’s upcoming 737 MAX planes in the battle for short-haul aircraft orders at the Farborough airshow near London which opened on Monday and lasts until the end of the week.
