Thai and Israeli Offices of the Higher Education recently signed a memorandum of understanding for educational programmes and there are plans to encourage more Thai travel agents to sell heritage tours to Israel.
The Thai – Israel Chamber of Commerce recently announced a partnership between the offices of the Higher Education of Thailand and Israel.
According to chamber of commerce president, Saksit Chalermwongsaves, the memorandum will allow students of both countries to study technology and innovations while organising educational exchange programmes for students and teachers between the two countries. Apart from the educational benefits, the agreement should encourage more student-related travel offering a new opportunity for travel agencies.
In addition to the educational programme, the Thai – Israel Chamber of Commerce president encouraged Association of Thai Travel Agents members, at their meeting last week, to promote outbound tourism to world heritage cities such as Tel Aviv, Beersheba and Jerusalem.
Currently, El Al Israel Airlines operates three weekly flights from Bangkok to Eilat a popular destination on the northern tip of the Red Sea.
Mr Saksit made a short presentation on travel opportunities in Israel to local travel agents at the monthly ATTA meeting last week, sharing the podium with the representative of Iran Air.

First impressions of a country are the people them selves. I advise go out to Suvarnabhumi Airport and meet a few Israelis who interview tourist and other
persons going to Israel on El-Al Airlines , need I say anything more.
