BANGKOK, 22 July 2010 – Registering a company in Thailand should be easier now that the Department of Business Development has opened what it calls “One Start, One Stop Service” centres (OSOS) according to the bureau of business registration director, Siam Likitpongsatorn.
He was briefing travel agents, yesterday, at the monthly meeting of the Association of Thai Travel Agents, held at Bai Yoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok.
The centre opened November 2009 as part of collaboration between the Department of Business Development, the Social Security Office and the Revenue Department.
It assists investors with multiple applications required to register a company.
Speaking to 250 travel agents and sales directors from local hotels, attending the meeting, he said the centre had relevance to travel agencies and airlines that needed to register their business activities in Thailand.
He said an application involved a single document and it took just 90 minutes to register the company instead of nine days previously required.
Company registration provides the following documents:
Juristic person certificate;
Individual tax identification number;
Employer identification number.
The new system called “E-Starting Business” was developed since 2008 under a ministerial regulation, but it took another year to establish the first centre.
There are five centres located at Department of Business Development offices. The single point of contact is also available at DBD offices in 24 provinces and there is a plan to have centres in every province.
