Honouring top tour guides

Tourism Authority of Thailand invites tour guides to apply in a competition that will identify the country’s best tour guides.
The winners will be chosen by 30 April to receive awards at a special presentation event. To qualify, applicants must have a tourist guide license issued under the Tourist Business and Guides Act BE 2551, no criminal record or breeches under the Act, hold a recommendation letter from a certified travel company or a reference from a minimum of two guides, and have at least three years experience.
The criteria to select the best guides are: Language skills; personality; aptitude and problem-solving; ethics; presentation technique; academic experience; work experience and experiences related to environmental conservation or cultural promotion.
The awards will be presented 27 September.
