Vietnam Airlines announces it will start a new non-stop service between Hanoi and Yangon from 2 March, which will eliminate the need to transfer to another airline in Bangkok.
It is part of wider strategy to connect the Vietnames capital, Hanoi, to all the main cities in the Mekong region with non-stop services, a development that will challenge Bangkok’s status as the preferred gateway to the six-country region.
The airline will serve Yangon four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. VN701 departs Hanoi at 1610 and VN700 returns from Yangon at 1910.
The route is operated by an all economy class Fokker 70 with 79 seats. Ex-Hanoi the airline is selling a roundtrip fare for US$250 until 31 March.
