Tiger Airways will re-introduce a three-weekly Singapore-Hat Yai service, 3 November, after almost a two-year suspension.
According to the airline’s statement, Tiger Airways managing director, Rosalynn Tay, said the economic outlook had improved prompting the decision to resume services to southern Thailand.
“Hat Yai attracts Asean tourists due to its shops and entertainment facilities. We are particularly appreciative of the support given us by the airport authorities, Tourism Authority of Thailand and the local community that has made a come back to this destination a viable proposition.”
Tiger Airways will operate three weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing Singapore at 1325 and arriving in Hat Yai at 1550. The flight returns at 1620 and arrives in Singapore at 1645.
Earlier, the airline announced it would resume services to Krabi, effective 25 October, with four weekly flights from its Singapore base.
The lowest fare offered on the website is Bt265 per sector for Hat Yai and Krabi. Taxes and surcharges, ex-Singapore, are around Bt1,340 and ex-Thai cities, around Bt1,745.
