Turkish Airlines records profit

Turkish Airlines closed the first half of 2009 with an operating profit of Euro 73 million Euro, a 9% decrease compared with the same period last year.

TurkishNet profit, after tax and deductions, dropped by 64% to Euro 48 million, due to a fall in tangible assets caused by global recession. During the same period sales revenue remained stable at Euro1.4 billion.

Passengers carried increased by 9%, to 11.23 million, cargo and mail carried increased by 7% to 102,000 tons.
