BA/QF axe fares to fly to Australia and UK up until 30 June.
British Airways and Qantas Airways are axing fares, selling Australia for Bt15,590 and London for Bt23,650. The deals expire 30 June.
The economy class fare, of Bt15,590 to Australia, is eligible for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. Taxes and surcharges add Bt8,950 to the bottom line.
London’s Bt23,650 fare has taxes and surcharges of around Bt13,360. Both fares are valid for a year, but must be purchased by 30 June.
In addition, a World Traveller Plus class fare to Australia sells at Bt32,260 to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, while Adelaide costs Bt35,490. Taxes and surcharges are approximately Bt10,200.
Both airlines are suffering huge losses in revenue and profit due to the fall-off in travel demand for long-haul services in the wake of global recession.
