Selling crystal and glassware takes on new meaning.
For tour operators, who like to plan ahead, Swarovski Wien is already promoting its Christmas programme that focuses on the relatively new Swarovski Crystallised Store.
Described as a new “inspirational centre,” it covers three floors of real estate between Kärntner Straße, Marco-d’Aviano-Gasse and Neuer Markt. It is being dubbed the corporate and brand platform for artists where the latest crystal creations and gem displays will be available for Thai shoppers.
Since its opening in 1995, Swarovski Kristallwelten has welcomed more than 8 million visitors making it to one of the most visited tourist and shopping attractions in Austria.
Swarovski tourism services CEO, Andreas Braun, said Euro15 Million has been invested in the new Swarovski Wien. He does not distinguish between the shopping and sightseeing experiences.
“Habits of customers are changing. In the past they shopped. Now they want to bring art into shopping. They want it to be part of their holiday experience. These factors are merging,” he added.
Like The Crystal World, the admission is free for the new Swarovski Wien. Crystal Worlds receives 700,000 visitors a year while Swarovski Innsbruck gets around 400,000 visitors a year.
